The History of Cupping

Cupping is an ancient practice dating back thousands of years. It is practiced all over the world and is a regular part of holistic health support in China, Europe, and the Middle East. The earliest accounts of cupping come from Egyptian hieroglyphs. It remains favored by millions of people worldwide because it’s safe, comfortable and remarkably effective for many health disorders. It’s the use of suction, rather than compression for bodywork ranging from myofascial release to lymphatic drainage – and everything in between! Cupping rapidly facilitates rigid soft tissue release, loosens and lifts connective tissues, breaks up, and drains stagnation while increasing blood and lymph flow to skin and muscles in ways not possible using compression. It creates space to support the body in its natural healing process.
